The Core Committee, designs the curriculum to be offered to the affiliating colleges of Bharathiar University.

Appointed as one of the Committee member by the Director of Collegiate Education, Chennai to confer Autonomous Status to two colleges in Tamilnadu.
2007-2008
Served as Resource Person in the Re-accreditation workshop jointly organized by NAAC and Directorate of Collegiate Education, Kerela.
Colleges have to take Re-accreditation initiatives at the post accreditation period.
Nearly 50 colleges were present in the workshop

2007-2008
Bharathiar University, Coimbatore constituted a committee to redesign and reconstitute the existing obsolete courses and refurbish them with innovative and latest trends in the subjects.
Against this, I was appointed as a convenor to introduce innovative courses in Economics. With the support of the Department of Economics of my college and with subject expert drawn from outside, the following courses were offered.

Currently theses courses are offered at UG level to 87 affiliated colleges that come under the umbrella of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.

Member of the standing committee on Academic Affairs of Bharathiar University, apex body that brings all academic matters to discussion, to ratification.

Chairman of the Board of Studies(UG) in English at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
As a chairman, syllabus has to be designed for all the UG students who pursue English at Part-II Language Level.

Publications
Has published her Doctoral Thesis as a book entitled “Dreiser, The Stoic.”
M.Phil Dissertation 1987 title is the concept of Tragedy in Eugene ‘O’ Neill’s’ plays. The treatise brings out how O’Neill projects the tragedy of individuals in the play. “The Hairy Ape” and “The Emperor Jones”.
Ph.D. Dissertation-1996. This is about the Influence of Indian Thought on Theodore Dreiser and his works.
Has guided 2 M.Phil and 5 Ph.D scholars.
Two papers were presented on Theodore Dreiser in All India English Teachers Conferences held at Chennai and at Pondicherry.
UGC has sanctioned an amount of Rs.25,000 for a minor project on ‘The Influence of Indian Philosophy on Theodore Dreiser and Somerset Maugham – A Comparative Study in the year 2006.
Has received a travel grant from American Research Studies Centre, Hyderabad for working on Ph.D. Project-This was sanctioned on the basis of proposal sent.
Has written forwards to publications brought out by the Department of English, Sri GVG Visalakshi College.

An Article on “Fostering Global competencies” has been brought out in the proceedings of the workshop conducted by Vellalar College for Women, Erode sponsored by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore.
Achievements
Has been Instrumental in getting 4 Major Grants and 17 Minor Grants for our College.
Instrumental in creating Women Study Centre. UGC has sanctioned 15 Lakhs.
Has been instrumental in securing the third position as the Best College for overall performance among the affiliated colleges of Bahrathiar University
Has been instrumental in securing funds form UGC, ICHR, ICSSR to the tune of nearly 5.50 crores.
Has been instrumental in making our institution an ISO 9001-2008 certified one. The audit was carried out by TUV Rhineland groups.
Has been instrumental in introducing UGC Innovative Course on B.A Economics with Logistics & Freight Management to the tune of 55 Lakhs and 3 faculty members.
Services Rendered:-
It is mandatory that along with teaching and research extension is to be imparted. Accordingly both students and teachers were involved to adopt a village for a period of five years. A statistical survey was conducted to understand the felt and unfelt needs of the villages. Accordingly progammes were carried out.

Conducting Aids Awareness Camps.
Planting tree samplings in every household.
Besides these, as way of strengthening, each department is made to adopt a village. The services were carried out on the theme ‘Health and Education’ of women folk. Every week the students were sent to the respective villages and different kinds of camps were carried out like Health camps by taking a team of doctors to the adopted village.
Students of the neighbouring schools are brought to see simple experiments conducted in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
2010-2011
To identify school drops especially among girls, women and impart some skills to them enabling them to emerge as entrepreneurs.
In recognition, Rotary Club of Udumalpet has given Corporate Social Responsibility Award for the year 2010-2011.
